I can’t believe summer is officially over! It’s technically officially fall, but Chicago seems to be hanging onto summer for a little while longer. It has been in the 90s all week long which is quite unusual for September. With this month being my birthday month, I always remember it cooling down around this time of year but I guess you can never really predict how the weather will be anymore. It seemed like we got a taste of fall at the very end of August and sure enough, we were all surprised once the temperature started to rise again. I tend to put away my summer clothing in the beginning of September which I regretted immediately this year. Having to find something to wear when my most of my summer clothes were in storage was quite the challenge the last couple of weeks! However, I have resorted to some of my staples from the summer while we slowly transition into cooler weather. Luckily, I kept this little denim number and a few off the shoulder tops just in case I might still need them and boy am I happy I decided to hang onto them for a little while longer!Processed With Darkroom

Processed With DarkroomProcessed With DarkroomI got this denim skirt from Target for under $20 which was a huge steal. I had purchased it for our trip to D.C. and I just loved it. I’ve worn it several times this summer and look forward to wearing it again next year.

Recently, I also added a few new pieces of jewelry to my collection. I have slowly started growing it over the last couple of years knowing how important it is to mix up some fun pieces with classic ones as well. I love these gorgeous gold double circle earrings from Shay Collection. They’re delicate but bold and they added the perfect touch to this fun summer outfit.

Processed With DarkroomMy rose gold arrow bracelet is also a new favorite. I love what arrows symbolize. This year has been quite a difficult one for my family and I. Wearing this is my reminder that even though life has been really tough lately, I know that if I keep on aiming, it will launch me into even greater things.I’ve teamed up once again with Shay Collection to giveaway both the earrings and bracelet as a way to say goodbye to summer, and hello to new beginnings! All you have to do is comment below or follow me on instagram: melissaimbrogno and leave a comment about your favorite memory this summer or what you’re looking forward to most. For an extra entry, follow Shay Collection  on instagram. Pretty simple! The winner will be announced on Friday, September 29th.

As sad as I am to say goodbye to summer, I am so ready for Fall. I am so thankful for the memories but I am ready for a fresh start and look forward to what this next year will bring!

Thank you to Shay Collection for the earrings and bracelet.

  1. I’m loving everything arrows lately too! My favorite memory this summer is really very simple and average, but everything. It’s Saturday summer evenings when all my boys are home and we all are just snacking, grilling, roasting marshmallows, playing catch or football, listening and singing to music and enjoying each other. It’s truly magical!

  2. Love these pictures! You look fantastic! I’d have to say that our favorite memory this summer was Puerto Rico! We are absolutely devastated at the destruction and have been praying continually for the people!

Thanks so much Katherine! We are devastated too… it’s a very scary time for Héctor and the family right now.

Hi Meli! You always look super cute 😊👍 I’m all for you adding more pieces to your collection; I’m kind of (ok, totally) obsessed with jewelry, always have been! 🙌

I would have to say my favorite summer memory, even though it was technically not yet summer (late May/early June) was going to Cancun with my boyfriend. It was our first big trip and I hadn’t seen the ocean in way too many years. It was perfection ☺️

Cancun sounds amazing! Dying to go on a vacation. Thanks for your comment Caroline!
