The 4th of July weekend is off to a great start! We’ve done plenty so far and we still have a couple more days to take advantage of.
Since I was a kid, Lake Geneva was our go to place in the summer. We would go as a family to have picnics on Sundays just to be near the lake.
About two hours away from Chicago, Lake Geneva is the perfect little getaway town to make it feel like you’re really on vacation. At least for a little bit.
The lakefront welcomes you with hotels, the beach, beautiful mansions, stores, and plenty of restaurants. We always enjoyed getting out to Lake Geneva because it really does feel like you’re nowhere near Illinois. Just passed the border of Wisconsin, it’s the perfect little getaway for a weekend.
We spent the day with the family but Hector and I also took the time to do a little exploring on our own. If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know I love charming historic towns like this. The boat tours are a great way to get a great view of the gorgeous homes and to learn about the history. I think the reason I love it so much is because it reminds me so much of my childhood.
This gorgeous white linen off the shoulder dress is from Loft. I had been eyeing it and it finally went on sale so I snagged it as soon as I could! It runs a little bigger so I definitely had to go down a couple of sizes.
It was perfect for the hot weather and was comfortable to wear all day because of how light it is. The purse is Hat Attack and unfortunately is sold out but I linked a similar one. You can shop my entire look below.
I hope your 4th of July weekend is off to a really great start!
