Happy Friday! We made it guys! And now we have a 4 day weekend to look forward to! And if you don’t have a 4 day weekend, I hope you get to enjoy your 4th of July in the best way possible and have some great plans in store! I love the 4th for so many reasons. Mainly because I know I can count on some delicious food and even better, the company. Hector and I have no set plans yet (which I’m totally OK with) but I’m just hoping that we have some great weather this weekend.

As usual on Fridays, I thought I’d tell you about some things going on lately in the life of Meli!

1.Today officially makes it exactly 1 YEAR until I become Mrs. Bauza! I can’t believe how quickly these 6 months have gone by. I know this next year will go by even faster so I want to make sure I am enjoying every moment of the planning process while I can. Ultimately I cannot wait to marry Héctor!

2. I’m coming up with a really fun summer challenge/series and am going to be posting it next week so stay tuned!

3. I went to my very first Chicago blogger meet up on Wednesday! The creators behind Blogging for Keeps Jess Keys(The Golden Girl) and Blair Staky (The Fox and She) hosted it at Frontier. First off, those ladies are goals. They’re just as lovely in person as they are on their blog. Overall, it was so great to meet other bloggers. We kept joking about how we knew everything about each other yet we had never actually met until yesterday. I know I’ve only been doing it for about a month and some have been doing it for years but regardless of where you’re at, everyone is so incredibly supportive. Every single blogger I met is so inspirational, beautiful, and unique in their own way which is what’s so great about blogging. There may be a world full of bloggers out there, but there is only one YOU. Here are just a few photos below.

You can follow all of these lovely ladies above on instagram to keep up with their awesome blogs: @mellycoy @heylizzyfay @jesskeys_ @therescuerunway @amandaafaber @theplussizedprep @moderatelyexcited @tiaperciballi

4.There are some great 4th of July deals going on right now! I’ve taken advantage of a few things already myself like this dress here and these pants here from Ann Taylor since they had 50% off your ENTIRE purchase! Here are some other great 4th of July inspired outfits for you!

5.Last but not least, we took our official engagement photos last Saturday! We had such a blast with Chantel and her husband Mike of Dream2Be Photography. We love their work and we knew that she would really capture us so well. She took my cousin’s photos for her wedding and after I stood up in the wedding and saw the end result, I knew I wanted her for mine as well! We went to the West Loop (near RM Champagne), where we had our first date at the Dawson, and two coffee shops, Asado on Erie and what used to be Asado on Jackson (which is now Pickwick Coffee aka the magical coffee shop). I’m so excited to share a sneak peak of some photos!

My black dress is from Dry Goods (unavailable online), blue and white striped one from Urban Outfitters, and my shoes are from Clarks (they have them in black as well!) My makeup was done by my amazing makeup artist/cousin Sandra! She works for M.A.C. cosmetics!

I’ve linked similar outfits and looks below!

We could not be happier! Thank you Chantel and Mike for capturing Hector and I so perfectly!I cannot WAIT for June 30, 2018!!!

Have a great 4th of July weekend!
